Making a new wood handle and tote for an old hand plane (no lathe!)

Making a wood replacement handle and tote for an inexpensive (and nasty) No.4 hand plane knock off. Have a 100 year old Stanley No.4 but gave this a go to replace the black plastic handle on this one. Plane should be binned but may keep it around for rough work in the field.
