Restoring Talitha Ep. 36 - Ropework 4: Crown Back Splice in 3-lay rope

Tying a back splice using a crown knot in 3-lay rope. Great for attaching rings or other hardware to the end of a line, or just finishing a running end on a halyard.

I used a man-made Hemp 3/8 inch (10mm) 3-lay rope (Langman Ropes Hempex). It is soft and furry, but made from polypropylene with enhanced UV resistance.
