Restoring Talitha Ep. 31 - Ropework 1 - Tying a Monkey's Fist

Tying a Monkey's Fist for decorative or heaving a line. I used a man-made Hemp 3/8 inch (10mm) 3-lay rope (Langman Ropes Hempex). It is soft and furry, but made from polypropylene with enhanced UV resistance.

This used about 18 inches of rope and is about 2 1/2 inches in diameter.
